High-Speed Broadband Build

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Long-haul fiber backbone installation.

SCOPE:

  • Install fiber between huts throughout central Kansas
  • Established required permits through governmental entities
  • Access right of ways along engineering designed route paths
  • Use of multiple underground construction techniques including:
    • Directional Drilling
    • Long Row Trenching
    • Vibratory Plowing
    • Excavation and Backfill
  • New fiber conduit installation along new route
  • Handhole installations
  • Fiber pulling through newly installed conduit

BENEFIT:

This broadband build project brought high-speed broadband to underserved small communities throughout central Kansas. The addition of high-speed internet to these communities will open up opportunities for remote education, online business support and online shopping options. Other valuable services such as remote monitoring, real-time weather alerting and other valuable resources will now make living in these communities better and easier for residents.
